Armand Basi was founded in the late 1980s by the Basi brothers. Their mother, Mercedes Sabi, was the first to enter the apparel world, making high quality knitwear in an artisan workshop in Barcelona. Her sons took over from her and succeeded in establishing the company, as would her granddaughters as well, years later. The presence of different designers and creative directors results in a series of highly diverse collections that evolve as the brand grows, but always maintaining its essence: the connection to the city of Barcelona and the culture of its people, the promotion of young talent and local production, and quality and sustainability in terms of materials and production methods.
